“When we are no longer able to change a situation, we are challenged to change ourselves.” — Viktor Frankl
Growing up, there were countless circumstances I couldn’t change or control in my life and that led to real challenges for me. I suspect you’re exploring therapy as one way to get help through some of your real challenges. You may be in pain or sadness or loneliness, or anger–looking for a way out of the discomfort. I realize that while we can’t control every factor in life, we can choose how we respond. During my own therapy journey, I worked with several therapists until I finally found the right one—the one who helped me spark that inner transformation. Ironically, it was the quote above that first drew me to this therapist, someone who made a profound impact on my growth.
For a long time, being vulnerable felt unnatural, even intimidating, because I was never taught how to be open in that way. But once I met the right therapist and was truly ready for change, I began my personal growth journey. This transformation ignited my passion for helping others achieve change for themselves. Like my clients, I am always growing, striving to provide the best possible care. Today, I know that change is possible, and I am committed to helping you discover it for yourself.
I believe that no one is “resistant” to therapy–we are just uncertain, scared, and maybe can’t even muster enough hope that something can really help us. We all have different experiences in life, and it’s natural to feel nervous or hesitant about the therapy process. It’s not easy. In fact, growth often feels uncomfortable—but it’s in this discomfort that true healing begins. Having walked this path myself, I am here to support you every step of the way. We aren’t trying to just cope with discomfort or even alleviate it. We are using it to help us understand what is “off” and how to find our more actualized self.
I have learned the vital importance of a strong client-therapist relationship. This bond was pivotal in my progress, and it’s something I strive to create with every client. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable discussing the therapy process and your experiences of change, but also help you get deeper–under the discomfort and into what that discomfort is pointing you to. I think humans often need our pain to produce the energy to grow. Our pain becomes the catalyst for our growth. It isn’t the enemy, but it does point us to the answers we seek.
Outside of therapy, my passions include being in nature—biking, hiking, rafting—where I find healing and peace. Like therapy, nature offers a retreat and a space for renewal. Music is another passion of mine. From a young age, concerts became an outlet for emotional expression, and I found connection in shared experiences through music. Music can be deeply personal yet universally relatable, and that connection brings a sense of belonging. I’d love to help you discover your own sources of renewal, expression, resilience, and connection.
